What is Public Relations?

One of the top questions I receive now since I offer public relations as a service is — well what is it? So let’s get into the details!

PR is the “Persuasion Business”. As an agency representative for clients, we are trying to convince an audience, your hometown/surrounding areas to promote your new business product launch, to support your existing business or be recognized for your accomplishments.

The ‘textbook’ definition of public relations from PRSA is — “Public relations is a strategic communication process that builds mutually beneficial relationships between organizations and their publics.” So let’s break that down.

Public relation agencies/representatives are storytellers for YOUR brand. We create positive publicity for our clients and enhance their reputation through out their community and surrounding areas.

Here are a few public relation tools we offer at MC Social:

1.) Media List Creation

With a media list, we create a list of potential media outlets that are catered to your niche that we could pitch your story to.

2.) Media Training

Media training is a specialized form of communication training for interacting with the media. At MC Social, we will work together to assist and prepare your for your role in representing your company or organization.

3.) Media Pitching

Media pitching is where we will pitch your story to media outlets that we see best fit for your industry.

4.) Event Planning

With event planning, we will create and execute special events designed for public outreach and media relations to get you the most coverage possible for your business.

I only listed out a few of our PR tools to give you a glimpse of what we can do for your business. To read the entire list visit our ‘service’ page for more details.
