Quality Over Quantity

Let’s discuss follower count… I know what you are probably thinking, does my follower count ACTUALLY matter??

There are so many opinions on this topic, but I personally think this is a tricky question to answer. I think the answer is equally yes and no. I believe in quality over quantity with brands social media content. Anytime your following increases it speaks to a larger movement of your brand, but at the same time do NOT focus on your following count! Focus on how you can use your existing audience and following to grow your business. Don’t waste your time trying to get a massive following that you miss the time to engage with your current audience.

Focus on the quality content.

The quality is the content you are creating for your page. If you are producing relevant and engaging content that represents your brand, you are producing quality content your followers want to see. Every time you post, let it be genuine and speak your brand! Everything from the tone, fonts, photo aesthetic, colors, etc.

Engaging and creating relevant content will lead to community organic growth, which is key! Organic growth is what you want to see from you being consistent.

Your following will always fluctuate.

Your following will fluctuate daily and there isn’t much you can do about it, especially when you have a business page. What you can do though is focus on other elements that will help you build your brand on social media.

Here are a few things to focus on to make a difference on your social media other than your following base:

Focus on your business goals

  • Look over your business goals - increase your website traffic, drive people to sign up for your newsletter, gather new leads, etc. You can drive these goals through your content.

Be Genuine

  • Be genuine with your current community. Engage in conversation on your posts and on their content. Give them a like, comment on their photo, share it with a friend or even save it if their content inspires you! Engaging with your audience will create that deeper connection and potentially turn them into a new customer or client!

Measure more than your following

  • There are plenty of options with measuring your growth other than your following! You can analyze your growth by your engagement rate, your reach, saves, and shares. Look over your content that has high engagement rates. If you see a pattern in content that does better with your audience, create more content like that! These elements are way more important than your following count.

I hope you have found this blog about quality content over quantity followers helpful.

Always keep that in mind and keep creating genuine content!
